Diyabakir, the Roman wall

Old town Diyabakir is encircled by a massive wall, second in length only to the Great wall of China. Some parts are falling apart while other parts have been restored. It is possible to walk a good length of the wall but we didn't have time to do it. We probably won't do it because Lonely Planet has warned of robbery of hikers by locals.

Ic kale or castle is being restored and was blocked off. The workers there saw that we are foreigners and they let us in to walk around.

It will be very nice after restoration has been completed. Diyabakir is an Unesco world heritage site.
