Madrid, beautiful stately buildings

 The Prado musuem
 The Reina Sofia museum

I can't name every building. The glory of its past is evident everywhere. Today everyone wished our present is as glorious as our past. Spain is no different. The treasure from its past, its colonies has contributed to build the city we see today. It is like every old European city, proud and beautiful. We go to Europe to see old Europe. We lament that we don't have a past like that. Our cities are a mish mash of styles, can't even call them modern. We are so different especially California, with our 33 million plus population and about 20 million living in Southern California. We are a country unto itself. It is also hard for foreigners to fathom the vastness of the USA. My cousins are shocked to hear it takes 5 to 6 hours to fly from the West coast to the East coast.
