The Tibetan community in Pokkara

I had wanted to go to the Tibetan refugee community initially but my driver took me to the Tibetan Buddhist monastery instead. The Dalai Lama left Tibeta under the cover of night in 1959 and the mass of Tibetan refugees started their exodus out of Tibeta. Some settled in Nepal, others went with the Dalai Lama to Dharamsala, India. Here in Pokhara they started a monastery so the complex is relatively new. The views of the Annapurna sanctuary is spectacular.
