Tagong, love at first sight

The first sight of Tagong was this temple. There were a row of prayer wheels and people were walking the kora and turning the prayer wheels as they walked by.

Tagong is a tiny Tibetan village, has one main street, dusty because they were working on the road, like they were working on all the roads in this area. The area was surrounded by huge expanse of grassland and has very few people. We had not planned to be here at all. We were on our way out of Kangding and heading for Danba. We stopped in Tagong for a bathroom break. We walked around looking for some place to pee but fell in love with the place and decided to stay for one night. It was quite unexpected, as I told my travel companions, 'this was a case of love at first sight'. We fell in love with Tagong and would come to enjoy the place so tremendously.
