Mechoui lamb

No where in the world but in Marrakech will you find mechoui lamb. It is a very slow roasted lamb, eaten with cumin salt and absolutely delicious. I didn't know anything about it except before I left for Morroco, I bought a copy of Jamie Oliver's magazine and he went to Marrakech for a weekend (cheap flights from Gatwick) and ate mechoui lamb and how delicious it was. So the minute we checked into our riad, I asked the owner where Mechoui alley was. It's just off Place Jemaa el fna, a short alley where that's all they serve. Later that same evening there were a lot of stalls on jemaa el fna that serve mechoui lamb. If you're ever in Marrakech, don't forget to try some mechoui lamb.
