How to look like a French girl
It's easier to take pictures of people unaware with a small point and shoot camera. It was harder with a big DSLR but I managed. They didn't know that I was snapping their pictures.

More cute things
Bordeaux is not very big but it is not small either. It is like an arrondisement of Paris. It's very easy to visit and is very enjoyable. There is this tram that runs from the train station to the other end of town. Or it is easy to walk but at the end of the day it is better to take the tram. We stayed across the street from the train station.
France is still the most favorite of tourists. It is not difficult to see why. It is beautiful and the French people has such finese in everything they do. There's a cute vignette everywhere you turn, even at this bakery. I get very sad when I come home and have to store away my camera.

Lunch in Bordeaux
I'm amazed at the variety of foreign food in Bordeaux. We chose Asian street food for lunch. I had the Pad Thai or Thai noodles while Sophie had the Penang Laksa (Malaysian). They were both delicious.

Merry Christmas
With the last rose of summer, I bid you a warm and merry Christmas. I'll be back after Christmas. I will be leaving for Nepal sometime during the second week of January. I just gave myself a Christmas present, an iphone 5. I'm going to activate global reach before I leave so I can keep in touch from Kathmandu. (maybe).

Christmas 2012
Chritmas is a slice of home made fruitcake...
Some mince pies....
A wreath on the front door.... and the family coming over for the Christmas day feast.

St Michel
Yards away from St Croix is St Michel. The town of Bordeaux is dotted with numerous old churches. This one has a church tower next to it.

Streets of Bordeaux, more
I like Bordeaux. It's so cosmopolitan, has great public transportation, great variety of food and lots of stuff outside the area to explore.

Old ethnic streets of Bordeaux
It was interesting to happen upon an ethnic area of Bordeaux. Here people from the former colonies of France living side by side with other ethnic people not from the former French colonies. One should feel completely at home in France. Like the US which is home to people from all the world, France is too. We have our Koreatown, Little Saigon, Chinatowns, and others from Central and South America. The rest of the world is scattered all over and in between. It's fun because it makes for culinary variety and I enjoy that.
