So named 'the monkey temple' because of the numerous monkeys that live there. This is a major Buddhist complex and they don't believe in killing. I didn't see that many monkeys though people I've spoken to expressed no desire to visit on account of the monkeys. As one walks up the 365 steps to the main temple complex, prayer flags wave merrily all around.
