Midyat to Hasankeyf

We left Mardin in a hurry, we'd just arrived the afternoon before and the very next morning we were headed out the door. In fact, we were so jetlag, we got up at 2m and thought it was 7am. We went downstairs to the reception and asked about the bus. The clerk was baffled, and we were just as baffled, only to realise we were way too early. Anyway we went back to the room and waited till it was 7am before we went looking for a mini bus to take us to Midyat. We arrived at Midyat, looked for a hotel and in no time was headed out the door again for Hasankeyf. We stayed in the new town in Midyat and was just next door to the bus station or Otogar in Turkish.
There are mini buses or dolmus going everywhere and is so convenient. In less than hour we were in Hasankeyf.

It was a sunday and the place was crowded with locals spending the day outside with their familes.

The new bridge over the Tigris river.
Turkish families having picnics in Hasankeyf under the mulberry trees.

Right next to the new bridge are the remains of the old 12th century bridge. Hasankeyf is really pretty and pleasant.
