While the bedouin men are tending to the animals, the women are selling trinkets all over Petra. The bedouins live in both Jordan and Israel. I read an article on the plight of bedouins in Israel on how their roaming land has been reduced and their way of life deeply curbed. In Petra they are still allowed to roam the land thus preserving to a certain extent their ancient way of life. Though selling trankets is not one of them.
