The funeral party

We waited for almost 3 hours and decided to leave, not knowing if a sky burial was really going to happen. Just as we were about to leave, we saw a caravan of vans approaching. Oh my god, it is happening.

Tibetan men in chubas started spilling out from the vans. I watched and started taking photographs of the whole scene.
Just then in another area, another van started entering the scene. We realised then that was the van that carried the corpse.
They unloaded the corpse which was wrapped in a white cloth.

This was quite a big funeral party, a few monks were there. Usually only friends of the deceased attends sky burials. The family almost never attends the sky burial because it is quite harrowing to see one's loved one being cut up and fed to the vultures, even though it is a common practice. It was going to be really exciting, one does not attend sky burials on a regular basis.
