For the size of the harvest, these were not a lot of pickers. This is paltry compared to the size of the job. The foreman of the team waved to us to motion us to come and join them in the picking. None of us had the time. There were a lot of gipsies in caravans at the train station parking lot but they weren't hired. I don't know why. I guess one could find work in the vineyards all over France at this time of the year.
