La petite France

The whole reason for travel is to see things that are different, to see pretty places like the Alsace area of France. Tucked away in a corner of old Strasbourg is the area called la petite France where the river runs through it and it was the old tanner's quarter. Today it is a cluster of old homes made of half timbered buildings. We arrived in Strasbourg in the late afternoon and the light was dimming and all the locals were out and about. Some were taking boat rides or canoeing on the river. It was so pleasant and the city of Strasbourg was totally livable.
