Moon over the Chain bridge (Budapest)

Budapest is the only city where the mighty Danube cuts it into half, Pest on one side, Buda on the other. Till now, our first day, we were still on Pest side and looking over to Buda. After our coffee break at Gerbeaud, we walked over to the Danube. We happened upon a celebration, I think they were Jewish, it being Rosha shannah. There was singing and a life band, food and lots of Palinka. Everybody buys a little glass goblet and a pouch to wear round the neck, this was to hold the glass when not in use. Then you go and buy a little glass of Palinka from the different vendors and you get to taste everybody's Palinka. You chat with friends, you eat a little and drink a lot of Palinka and the evening's revelry goes on that way. We sat and watch, fascinated. It was dusk and the light was dimming. We watched as we saw the trams go up and down this side of the Danube and we decided we were going to go on the tram and take it up a little way to see the lights go up on the Chain bridge and also in the castle area on Buda's side. There was a moon and the moon over the Chain bridge was so beautiful. I don't remember what we ate that evening, did we even? Wow, what a beautiful  way to end the day, our first in Budapest. Then we went in search of our bus stop to go back to Keleti train station where our hotel was.
