Madrid, art everywhere

It is refreshing to see outdoor art everywhere. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and our hostel was right in the thick of things, between the three major musuems, the Prado, the Thyssen and the Reina Sofia. Being Chinese, our upbringing doesn't allow us to indulge in art as a profession. We have been instructed from a very young age to go into the Sciences. It wasn't until recently when we started to travel to Europe that we allow ourselves to indulge in and appreciate art. We are envious of people who has chosen art as a profession. Artists are a lot more imaginative and creative as is seen in their work. It wasn't until very recently that I started to read the philosphers and to appreciate art in the hopes that it will soften my hard edges.
