Bhaktapur, the living areas

After leaving the temple complex, my guide took me to the back alleys. Here the age old buildings have been converted to apartments and living quarters. Narrow lanes separate the buildings and people were everywhere. There were all kinds of craft activities going on. Some are farmers and go to the fields that surround Bhaktapur. In the late summer fruits and vegetables are laid out in the temple complex to dry. It was all very interesting. This is a true living museum.
