The restaurant, Antik Sur', wasn't our first choice. The first one was fully booked. There aren't too many visitors to Mardin that any small group of visitors could easily overwhelm the accomodations and the restanrants. The same French group that took up the hotel we wanted to stay in, had the restaurant we wanted to eat in, all taken up. So we had to go to the 'Antik Sur'. It is popular with the locals because after 8pm, there is live music. We didn't care for the music, nor the food.
The food was a sampling of the local cuisine. It was just so so.
Turkish breakfast is very simple, hard boiled eggs, olives, local cheeses, breand, butter, honey and preserves. I've looked forward to eating the soft bread again, with butter and cherry preserves.
