The old bridge in Hasankeyf
What's left of the 12th century bridge. This area is expected to be submerged with the completion of GAP, the Southern Anatolian project, a massive dam which is supposed to supply all the electrical power needs of this area. When is it going to be completed, I don't know. I read in 2008 the European consortium in charge of the project pulled out. Now the Turkish government is hoping some Chinese would be interested. Yeah, the Chinese will drown everything and everybody as well for profit. They don't care about anything but money. If nothing matters to you then nothing matters.
