Stephanplatz
This is the epicenter of Vienna in what they call District I and one does not have to go far from here to see everything if one is pressed for time. We are always pressed for time and other than our foray outside of District I to see Schonbrunn palace, we spent our whole time here. We only had one whole day and half of the day of our arrival. It is a crowded area with locals and tourists mixing it up. There is a variety of achitectural styles in this small area and the imposing facade of the very modern Haas Haus (glass house) is very obvious. It has the atmosphere of frivolity while being very dignified. Like in every place we visit we would have loved to be able to spend more time here and really soak in the atmosphere.
