Its not that big but it does go down a few levels. It was dark and crowded. I had just arrived in Jerusalem and upon seeing the line, joined it. It leads to a small chapel which marks the spot where the cross of Jesus was hammered into the ground. The door to it is small and we had to crotch as we enter. We were only allowed a few seconds of reverence as the line was incredibly long.
In front of me as I waited, I see people exiting the chapel squeezing past people entering.
The whole place was really ornamented with lamps of all sorts dangling from the ceiling.
This is the spot where the cross of Jesus went into the ground.
