Lets go to Fes
Here we are on a train bound for Fes, we're in the first class section. Morocco has some new and very modern train stations. It is the dream of the current king to bring 10 million visitors to the country by 2010 and there is a frenzy of infra structure building throughout the country. Most places are really clean, Moroccans take a lot of pride in their country and the progress it has made recently. They are a very proud people and one must be careful not to offend them. They're incredibly polite even though the vendors are somewhat pushy. Be careful, don't show any interest in anything unless you have intensions of buying it. Unless invited I don't point my camera in their face, I usually do it from a distance. We stayed just outside the Fes medina. I do not recommend this place though it is nice and clean and the owners are friendly. You get woken every morning at 4.30am for the call to pray. That, in itself is fine, I've been to Cairo where this goes on. The only difference is, this prayer is extremely long, I think it is an hour long, it is more like a sermon. It had an advantage, we wanted a wake up call one morning but we didn't need one, we knew we'll be woken up at 4.30am. We wanted to take the 6.50am train to Marrakech. Indeed we were woken up at 4.30am just in time to get ready, find a taxi and got on a train at 6.50am bound for the 7 hour ride to Marrakech.

That sounds like an interesting trip!
I hope you are not caught in havoc over the volcanic dust cloud over Europe. Safe travels, wherever you are!
