A term for a native of Bohemia, now a part of the modern Czech Repbublic but we use it to describe someone who is socially unconventional. We all want to be Bohemians, one time or another in our lives, to stick out, to be different, in this world of sameness. Kids wants to be different, to be noticed, they have body art or body piercings or they act out. I still want to be different and I've long since realised that it is not the externals that makes a person different but the internal, the thoughts in ones's mind. When we think differently, we act differently and therefore become different.
We caught sight of this girl in Szetendre, a little village outside of Budapest and we ran after her (unbeknownst to her) just so to take a picture of her. Now is an example of a Bohemian. She dresses differently (not in the latest fashion, I don't know what fashion era it is) she buys her own food and even flowers for herself (or maybe for someone else). Whatever, she looked exactly like she is living on her own terms in a former Communist country, maybe she was too young to remember. Maybe she is shopping for her mother, who knows, she knows.
This world is made just for people like us, we adore the unusual, the different and there is plenty of it in this world.
