The spiritual walk
If we came at night, a moon less night... will we be able to convene with the ghosts of Mystra? There were a few visitors during our visit, most just pop in the churches, have a quick look see and off they went. It was a similar situation in Cappadocia. I reckon that not too many people are enamored with old broken down churches. They are definitely not interested in the flaking paint of old frescoes. I love ancient stones, faded frescoes and wild and beautiful meadows. And Mystra has it all. In its day, they use donkeys and horses to get up and around the place. Water supply was a problem and there were a lot of cisterns all over the hill. Today if we build a house at a hilltop, there's got to be a road we can drive our car on, water piped up the hill and electricity and the Internet as well. We've come a long way or have we?
