Nancy

Nancy, a city to the north west of Strasbourg is a stately city, chock full of gorgeous and royal baroque buildings. Thanks to Duke Stanislas. He had a passion for urban planning and it showed, the 18th century classicism that is so evident in Nancy. We arrived by bus and train. We took the train till the end of the line. Then someone asked where we were going because we just sat there not knowing where we were. After discovering that we were going to Nancy, told us to take the shuttle. I guess where the train stops, the buses takes over and that is how most of France are linked up in public transporttion, an incredible system which we took advantage of each time we visit France. It is always a delight to be in France compared to being in Southern California. Home here is where the work is, where the big bucks are made to be used in Europe. We walked over to St Epvre by following the steeples and ended up in Place Stanislas, then onward to the church of St George and finally back to the train/bus station for the return journey.
