Bahia palace

Built completely in a Morrocan style, indoor and outdoor gardens, fountains, painted ceilings and zellij style tile work, 'Bahia' means beautiful. It was built at the end of the 19th century by two powerful grand viziers. It is very beautiful and only a part of it is opened to the public. The Bahia palace was just round the corner from our riad and close to it is the 'mellah' which means the Jewish quarter except there aren't any Jewish people living there anymore. Maybe just one, the rabbi who still has the key to the synagogue. We would visit it later. This was our last day and we had only the morning to do a lot of things, see a lot of places before leaving for the train station to get back to Casablanca.
