This is the place for the big Tuesday market but we arrived a little late in the day, it was over but we still had a nice visit. It is a very laid back Berber town with lots of people milling around and enjoying the day. This is strange to us because we live in a very time compressed society. At work, there is no such thing as downtime, I'm lucky if I can grab 10 minutes to eat lunch. I work from 7 am to 7 pm, non stop, kind of like a sweat shop, with constant activity and multi tasking. Even at home, I need to be doing something, reading, writing, chores and more multi tasking. I envy people who has time to chat and have coffee klatches or time for tea. This is a totally different world and for the little time we spent here, we were enjoying ourselves. Time for lunch at this hole in the world grill place. This reminds me of Yunnan, China where there are lots of these grill places and the smell of grilled meat with cumin permeates the air.
This is the place to buy authentic Berber rugs. Berbers walk for miles to come to market here to sell their handiwork. If one missed the market, the shops sell similar things but for a higher price. All around the town are the beautiful fields and by the time we got there, the locals were getting on their donkeys and heading for home in the mountains.
