Jemaa el fna at night

The place comes alive at night. Aftr the sun sets, one can really feel the atmosphere that is Jemaa el fna, not the place of execution that it once was but as the nouvelle and hip place it now is. The smells, the sounds and the clamoring is an unforgetable experience. This is the main reason why more people are in Marrakech but there are a myriad of other reasons to be in Marrakech. It's time to drink those freshly squeezed orange juice, at 3 dirhams (US0.75) one can have a few huge glassful. It's time to eat snails among other things, this is a place where one tries things that one would otherwise won't like eating snails and living to tell it. I don't know who this guy is but he is demonstrating his inner courage. One thing great about staying where we stayed is the close proximity to Place Jemaa el fna, just a very short 4 minute walk through some lovely stalls in the medina.
