Lost?

Do I look lost? Yes, I was lost here. We found ourselves in a neighborhood of Istanbul that is so far away from all the major tourists sites, nowhere near to the sign in the other picture. No one speaks English here and our Turkish was non existent. But we knew where the water was, right in front of us was the Golden Horn and if we walked and turned right, we'll be back in the neighborhood we were staying in. No taxis will tackle that area, it is always jammed with traffic and the taxis will ask you to get out and walk the rest of the way. It just costs too much to sit in a taxi in that kind of traffic. While guide books are good, sometimes you need to be facing in the correct direction before you can follow what's written in the book. I'm the one in charge of all the travel arrangements and if I'm lost, we both are lost. Anyway getting lost even for a little while is very exasperating.
