Wieskirche

The church in the meadow, we almost didn't make it there to see it. We've just arrived from Munich and this was Fussen. We found a bus to take us there, it passes the castles of the Romantic road and everybody was just getting off. We were the only 2 visitors who didn't get off plus another Japanese dude, he fell asleep and missed his stop but got off the next stop and had to walk back. Finally we were dropped off in a remote field, the bus driver said, 'wait for the next bus, it'll take you to Wieskirche. We sat and waited and debated as to if we really wanted to see Wieskirche. A German schoolboy was really sympathetic, he told us, it's another 10 minutes on the next bus. So we waited and caught the next bus and got to Wieskirche. It was raining and we were wet and cold, hence our reluctance. We'd rather be in a warm cafe, sipping coffee and hanging out. We were hungry as well.

We decided to eat first before going into the church. We ordered a whole bunch of food, even the waitress laughed at us.

Wieskirche, a UNESCO world heritage site.
An amazingly beautiful Baroque church with incredible frescoes that seem to float above forming this canopy that is so heavenly. Is heaven like this?

I'm glad we made the effort to come. It was worth it. It was one of the most beautiful things I've seen so far in my life. The great thing was the return bus took us all the way back, we didn't need to connect to another bus. We didn't go back straight to Fussen, we stopped to see Nueschwanstein. That made it a very very long day....... By the time we did get back to Fussen, it was very late, we had to walk a long way to find our hostel. Good thing, they still have beds 'cos I didn't book. There was even dinner even though it was just spaghetti with meat sauce. We were so tired and had to leave the next day......
