On our way to the Coruth valley
I'm just amazed at seeing the wide open spaces, with nobody around, just cattle. Tucked in little valleys are little Turkish villages. We went to the taxi stand to look for a taxi to take us to the Coruth valley to look for 2 old Georgian churches. Not many taxi drivers know where they are. They talked among themselves and our driver finally sort of know where to find them. So off we went. It was a beautiful drive into the Coruth valley. On the way we saw a lot of mini buses going to Erzurum from Yusufeli. At that point we weren't going to Yusufeli but a conversation with a local guide a few days later had us heading for Yusufeli. The first church was off the main road, on a dirt road through more bucolic village hamlets. This is one of the most beautiful places I've been to, just little old villages and village folk.
