Artemisia
She's not Artemisia, the village where we're at is Artemisia. Again the bus people never tell you that you have to change buses. Here we are after the bus dropped us off and just then we found out we have to wait for another bus. We took the bus from Sparta and headed up the Taygetus mountains, throughout a lot switchbacks. The view was so fantastic and we arrived here in Artemisia, high up in the mountains. There wasn't much land to cultivate because the houses were on a steep slope. It is a very quiet place and the only interesting thing was this old Greek woman, working on a very small patch of land. I tried to sktch her but it was hard because she was moving around so much. By the time of our return she's finished working on the whole thing. Then came the bus from Kalamata and off we went down the mountain to Kalamata on the other side of the Taygetus range.
