One can get very jaded and I hope I'm not the one to get so jaded. Here we are and the Acropolis is right above us. This is the view from the restaurant inside the Acropolis museum. Talk about room with a view, this is the view of the Acropolis as we sat down to have coffee and cake.
This is the most sumptuous walnut cake. We hear of news reports of the lazy Greeks and the country in ruins and all the negative stuff. It can scare anyone from going to Greece. What will we find there, a country of ruins in ruin itself? While they may not be as industrialised as Germany, they are by no means falling apart. It is a country that still function.
Here I'm trying to get a reflection of the Acropolis from the glass windows of the museum. I've seen better pictures and this is not one of them. I tried.
The Acropolis sits on a huge rock and while it was closed we did walk all around it. We can't wait for the next day when we could go and walk on its grounds. Wow, what a life. A few years ago we were on the same place as the pyramids of Cairo. Last year we were in Central Turkey, in Cappadocia. By the way, our guide in Cappadocia just informed me he is back in Cappadocia after spending the winter at home in Germany. Here is Athens and the Acropolis....Amazing!
