A typical small Greek town. They have a little cottage industry going, they pick and dry herbs growing wild in the mountains and sell them. They cure their own olives with salt, their own olive oil and wild herbs picked from the mountain side. It is a very laid back town. They have a great musuem showing the history of the area. We only have a few hours here but there wasn't much to detain anyone. The ruins are some distance away and there wasn't time to go there. At least we can say, 'we've been to Kalamata.'
